First Reading Response
According to The It Girl, Ziegesar talks about a girl, Jenny, who was transferred from single-sex private school in New York’s Upper East Side to an elite boarding school in New York horse country. The major events in this story are closely related to one of my experiences because I also got transferred but to a new school. I hadn’t exactly been studying very hard during the last few years while I was in America. I didn’t feel like it was such a big deal for me to have good grades but I have realized that I was completely lost and I was way behind other students in my class at RIST last year. Similarly, the experience that one of Jenny’s classmates complained to her, “Did you ever think about the fact that these are like, the most important years of our lives? Like, for getting into college and everything?” This provides that Jenny didn’t realize that she should have worked hard and tried her best to gain high enough grades to get into college with good reputation. Lately, I have been studying very hard not just for school work but also SAT and TOEFL, so my dream can come true which is get into well known college. Even though I barely have time to accompany my friends and family, I think it is worth my while spending most of my time studying and being a good student that will absolutely have a wonderful future.
